Welcome to 2025. All events are scheduled!
Q: How does the series work?
A: The first four races from each race day will count toward the 2024 SSOC Series Standings. Each race day will have separate SSOC day results as well based on all the races from that day.
Q: What is the Championship Fleet and the Challenger Fleet?
A: These are self designated fleets to allow everyone to compete against similar skill level sailors. The Championship fleet is for experienced racers. The Challenger fleet is for anyone who doesn't have much experience, is newer, or doesn't feel like they can compete in the Championship fleet. If a sailor wins the series trophy for the Challenger fleet they should move up to Championship for the following year.
Q: Will there be any dropped scores?
A: Yes, a boat may drop up to 4 races for the series scores and 1 race for day scores.
Q: The Bolton Regatta and Bantam Regatta are already separate regattas in their own rights. How will SSOC be integrated into those events.
A: SSOC will count the first 4 races from the Bolton Regatta and the first 4 races from the Bantam Regatta. They will continue to be managed as standalone regattas with their own NOR and SIs. There will be no additional SSOC awards at these events.
Q: My club would like to host an SSOC Regatta. How do we get in touch?
A: Please email us at SunfishSeriesofConnecticut@gmail.com
Q: Do you have to be a Connecticut resident to sail?
A: No. All are welcome!
